Fairford Art Society Winter Competition, 2022
“Places and Spaces”
We would like to thank all of you who contributed to this competition, seventeen artists submitted a wide and varied mix of thirty-two pictures. We hope you all enjoyed taking part, and that it encouraged you to open up your paint boxes.
All our members were then invited to vote for their favourite three pictures. The submitted votes were spread across eighteen pictures, reflecting the overall high standard of the entries, and your difficulty in selecting three favourites.
In joint first place were Judy Higgins and Alison Veli, with “Lake 104 Fairford” (No 13) and “Sense of Place” (No 19).
Judy Higgins also came second with “Deep in the Forest” (No 14).
In third place, Roger Jones with “Low Tide” (No 6).
Congratulations to all of you. It was very close, only a single vote separated 1st and 2nd places, and again a single vote decided between 2nd and 3rd!
For the curious, we have now added artists names to each picture.
Prizes will be awarded at a later date, and hopefully we will invite those who entered to bring along their pictures for all to see.
A final thank you from us all on the FAS Committee for supporting this competition, and keep those paint boxes open.
