2026 Fairford Art Exhibition
This event will take place on Friday evening 29th May, Saturday 30th May from 10.00 am to 5 pm and on Sunday 31st May from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm in the local Community Centre. This is an opportunity to showcase some of the excellent work of our members and includes framed and unframed picture, crafts and cards, all for sale at very reasonable prices. Entry is free and visitors are most welcome. Refreshments are also available.

For those members taking part in the exhibition, application forms and details will be sent out by email nearer the date. Exhibitors are asked to steward on two sessions if possible. 15 per cent of all picture sales goes to the Society.


Fairford (Hilary Cottage) Surgery Gallery, Hyperion House Gallery and The Plough Gallery in Fairford

We will be changing the paintings exhibited in all of the venues, The Surgery,  Hyperion House and The Plough on a date TBA. You may exhibit one of your paintings for hanging in The Surgery and another one painting for hanging in Hyperion House/The Plough. These paintings must be prepared to exhibition standard (see below). Neither the Society, nor it’s members nor The Surgery, Hyperion House or The Plough will be responsible for any loss or damage to exhibits whilst in their care, although all responsible precautions will be taken to safeguard them. 15% commission will be deducted from any paintings sold. 10% goes to The Surgery, Hyperion House or The Plough and 5% to FAS. Payment to the artist will be made as soon as possible after the sale.

Exhibition regulations

The Entry Form constitutes a contract with the Society subject to the following rules:
  • The exhibition will be entitled to take commission on any paintings sold or withdrawn by the artist before or during the exhibition.
  • The society cannot accept pictures wrongly labelled or without a tight hanging cord/wire.
  • The committee reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any paintings. 
  • Interpretation of the rules will be at the sole discretion of the committee.
  • Neither the society nor its members, the Committee or owners of the Community Centre or any other venue will be responsible for any loss or damage to any exhibits whilst in their care, although all reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard them.
  • Artists must take such action by way of insurance as they consider necessary against any loss or damage to their work during the period of the exhibition. Completion and signing of the Entry Form will be deemed to have exonerated the Society, its members and the owners of the venue against such risks.
CODE OF CONDUCT
  • Positioning of stalls, stands and pictures is the sole responsibility of the Exhibition Committee.
  • No one may move a picture or stand from its allocated place. 
  • It is the right of the committee to refuse entry to any iterm that does not adhere to the Society's regulations.
COPYRIGHT
  • All members should be aware of Copyright Law. The committee reserves the right to refuse any artwork due to possible infringement of these laws. For more information about copyright, visit the licensing section of the Design and Artists Copyright Society, www.dacs.org.uk.

D rings

 D rings are the preferred method of hanging mechanism, they are secure and unlikely to mark any frame standing near. These can be purchased from WALLSPACE, West Market Place Cirencester
